Jackson’s printmaking practice blends silkscreen with fabric, layering color and texture to explore themes of identity, inheritance, and representation. Using collage techniques, Jackson interweaves past and present, addressing the complexities of being mixed-race and Creole in contemporary society. Their prints challenge societal constructs of race and identity, inviting viewers to reflect on diversity and intersectionality.

Works from Jackson’s Grayzonians (2016) and Missing Data Quilt (2016) series were featured in Remember This House: A Global Story, their 2022 exhibition at Artpace. This exhibition investigated colorism, nationality, and inheritance through video, found objects, printmaking, painting, and fiber work. At its core were two stage-like altars, Anger and Joy, where Jackson incorporated textiles, including Missing Data Quilt #3, to reframe historical narratives. These works, alongside other mixed media pieces, embodied what Jackson describes as “my ancestor’s controlled anger towards systemic racism and the release of my own rage through labor and music.”

By integrating printmaking into broader material explorations, Jackson’s work transforms domestic and cultural artifacts into layered sites of storytelling and resistance.
